About the event

The  Desperadoes youth Steel Orchestra becoming musically literate while executing their skills, which caught the attention of Walt Disney.

Unfortunately, we are an unsponsred Youth Music School & Steel Orchestra and Walt Disney would not be covering the cost of any of our expenses.

As a tribute to the young people, who have worked for soo long to not have an opportunity utilize the Disney showcase would  be tragic.

Looking forward to partial or full sponsorship any way you see us being able to partner would be an asset. 

Why should you sponsor?

The Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra is a newly formed and registered Non-Governmental Organization.  Our goal is the advancement of youth development through the vehicle of the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago the steelpan.  In our three years of existence the orchestra has earned several accolades including two second place titles in the National Junior Panorama Junior Elite category.  There have also been standing ovations for pieces played at City Hall, the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) and on both the major television stations CCN TV6 and CNC 3 televisions evening magazine show Sunny at Sundown.

The youth of this orchestra have been consistently engaged in year-round musical training from inception.  Cutting their teeth on traditional old-time calypso and soca the young people were introduced to soul, jazz and multiple genres or modern music.  Not satisfied with knowledge of these forms alone, our young virtuosos submitted to classical training and learned to sight read musical scores to make light work of complicated pieces like the William Tell Overture. 

This ability to deftly navigate the wide range of terrain across the musical landscape has earned the Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra an invitation to play at the prestigious Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida.  The opportunity to play on the market place stage of Disney World will take place on August 20TH 2019. 

These achievements were earned without the benefit of a consistent sponsor of any kind.  Though an affiliate of the Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, the hard-working stalwarts of the youth band do not benefit in any way from the sponsor relationship of our senior counterparts.  It is to this end that we seek your support in the pursuance of the goal of getting to the Disney stage. 

We wish to request your support as a sponsor to aid in offsetting the cost of our travel to the United States for this opportunity to be afforded to our young musicians.  We require the support of good citizens such as yourself in this investment toward the further development of our precious youth resource.
