About the event

‘A Journey To Africa’ Music Concert will feature a wonderful, talented 20-30 choral members, supported by excellent professional musicians who will present a set list of beautiful African choral music. A beautiful rendition of cultural music that is bound to move every audience member in soul and spirit. Because there are so many countries in Africa and so many cultures and languages within a country, it will be impossible to perform every African music in a two-hour concert. For this reason, our main focus for August 24, 2019 concert will be on Nigerian music. We will be exploring some of the major languages and cultures of Nigeria, which are Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Urhobo, Ibibio, Edo, Ijaw, and English.

The concert will showcase the music, dancing, dressing and languages of various culture in Nigeria. 

Why should you sponsor?

Our niche target audience of attendees will include lovers of culture and eclectic music, youth, students, seniors, young and old, male and female, a very diverse mix of racial and age demographics. These people will represent people from  every race who will be very interested in knowing more about African culture  and traditions. This type of gathering will be a great avenue for our sponsors to advertise and advocate for their company or product. Sponsoring our event will not only give you high recognition but will also label you as an advocate for the African people. 

Lydore Music

I grew up in Nigeria with a strong passion for music and culture.  I watched my brother spend nights composing beautiful songs, which often ends up saved in his laptop with no platform to perform, no audience to listen and no way of getting the appropriate credits. He is one of the thousands of talented musicians from the African community who struggles every day to live their potential to the fullest. When my husband and I started Lydore Music, the goal was just to teach children music, because we believe that music plays an important role in a child's life; but as months passed by i realize that there is more to me, and more to be achieved, and it is time to start the cause, take the risk and pursue that dream of promoting African music and culture in the western world, and sharing its unique beauty with the world through music, dancing and so on. I believe that if people do not have the opportunity of visiting a place in Africa, they should at least have the privilege of experiencing the culture, music and dancing here in the United States and around the world. 

Lydore Music Network is aimed at bringing the incredible stories, culture, music, language, and drama, of the indigenous people of Africa in a way as never before to the United States and across the globe.
