About the event

The AmeriCorps St. Louis first annual Block Party will benefit our Emergency Response Team. AmeriCorps St. Louis’ Emergency Response Team has attracted a diverse group of AmeriCorps Members from all over the nation who commit 11 months to serving their community in disaster relief, conservation, and wildland fire response. 

Most importantly, in order to provide exemplary service, we need to regularly maintenance our chainsaws, power equipment, and fleet of trucks. Resources raised at this event will also allow us to fund additional supplies for our current disaster response missions in Florida and Puerto Rico, and our Emergency Winter Warming Shelter.

AmeriCorps St. Louis partners with Forest Park Forever and Great Rivers Greenway, as well as other conservation organizations, to provide trail maintenance and invasive species removal for local parks. Every winter, we partner with the Winter Outreach Network to provide emergency shelter for those who are unhoused in the South City area. Currently, our Members are still serving on missions in Florida and Puerto Rico in response to the recent hurricanes.

Why should you sponsor?

We need your support to make our first annual Block Party as great as it can be. With your support, we can afford to advertise to a greater audience, purchase new tents for booths, rent sound equipment for our musicians, and eventually expand this event. In order to continue our service, we are depending on the success of this event to inform our community who we are and how we serve St. Louis.
