The Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos (DANA) is preparing for its annual Gala, An Evening on the Rancho, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the DANA Cultural Center. Tickets include dinner and attendance to our live and silent auction. The Gala is the primary fundraising event to support Rancho Restoration, Educational Programs, and community events.
Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos (DANA), a 501c(3) public benefit nonprofit established in 1999, began with the initial focus to save the crumbling historic Dana Adobe and gain for its state and national recognition.
Over our 20 + year history, and through a number of state, federal, and individual funding sources, the restoration of the Adobe is complete; 30 acres of surrounding land purchased, 100 acres east of the Adobe permanently protected. the Dana Adobe is now a California State Historic Landmark and is on the Federal Registry of Historic Places.
The property is complete with a full trail system, historic circa 1850's museum, gardens, courtyards, meeting spaces, outdoor classrooms, and a Cultural Center that is dedicated to the history, heritage, culture, and ecology of the early 19th century Rancho Era in California and Nature Education for all visitors.
We can't meet our goal and continue Rancho restoration and educational/community events without the help of people like you. In this role, you would provide us with a donation, and in turn we would promote your company as the events official sponsor. With you by our side at this upcoming event, we're sure to achieve this year's fundraising goal and serve central California well.
The DANA Adobe & Cultural Center or “Casa de Dana” lies about 25 miles south of San Luis Obispo. It was one of the earliest adobe dwellings built in San Luis Obispo County and became the celebrated home of William Goodwin Dana, his wife Maria Josefa Carrillo Dana, and their very large family. In 1999 the nonprofit Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos began with the initial focus to save the crumbling historic Dana Adobe and continues today to rebuild the Rancho. The mission of the DANA Adobe & Cultural Center is to engage visitors with the stories of California’s Rancho Era History, connecting them with the peoples, the land, and its resources to foster environmental stewardship and cultural understanding.
