About the event

All Pakistan Mathematics Olympiad (APMO) is a national level competition held each year. Competition's main objective is to sharpen the mathematical skills of the students and encourage them to learn and master those skills in their ordinal life. As we all know mathematics is the mother of all sciences and to pursue any of the following fields: engineering, arts or even medical, one must have a strong background in mathematics. APMO provides you with the platform and the opportunity to unveil your mathematics talents and to ignite your craving for mathematics and its beauty. GIK Mathematics Society (GMS) is the first society that introduced this competition to GIKI and has the honour to host this event every year. Fortunately, it is GMS society again that is going to host this mega event in GIKI. It would be a lot more than a mere dull math paper, as it brings with it several competitions including puzzles, marathons and much more.

All Pakistan Mathematics Olympiad (APMO) is one of the most celebrated National Events at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, which will be held in May this year over a period of three days. It is an annual gathering of upcoming and talented students from different disciplines like Engineering,Medical, Business and college students , and researchers from all over Pakistan, sharing a common passion for Math. Apart from its technical events, APMO also provides its participants a platform for social interaction.

GIK Institute has a student mix belonging from the hills of Gilgit to the seas of Karachi. Apart from GIKI’s student population, APMO hosts participants from all over Pakistan making a grand total of 2000 students present on campus during the event. In addition to the students, APMO also attracts national print and electronic media. This picture sums up to be a golden opportunity for your company to reach the youth of Pakistan in a single go.

GIK Mathematics Society holds the record for being the first-ever Mathematics Society in an Engineering Institute in Pakistan. We, GIK Mathematics society is a family of 50+ personnel from different disciplines working on the same platform to make GIKI and Pakistan proud. We hold different events like Intra, Events Trips, musical fests and much more. GMS aims to develop enthusiasm about Mathematics in students and encourage them to contribute to Mathematical Sciences. It also aims to equip students with the necessary talents and basis for Mathematical modelling and simulations for their engineering problems. In 2018, due to our efforts towards the development of Mathematics, we were awarded books worth Rs 500,000 from an internationally renowned organization, the American Mathematics Society.
