Eric Deal

My name is Eric and I am the sole owner of Substate Presents in Aurora, CO. I have been a performing musician for the majority of my life and throughout my experiences I noticed a shift within the EDM community that was leaving behind some of the values that I personaly viewed as the backbone to what electronic music means to me. Local shows are now overshadowed by large events, and these events are so expensive that there is nothing left in the wallets of the listener. The culture, to me, felt that it went from being a rebellion of the status quo, to being a culture of needing to be the status quo. Where musical expression was defined by trends, rather than trends defined by the music. So I decided to create Substate Presents. With the gracious partnership with the owner of Spice Trade Brewing, I have a space to host events biweekly. The amount of potential is incredible and everyone who has attended has agreed that my message is one needing to be spread. Music is everything, the soul of the universe.
