Becoming Her, an etiquette experience for girls,

Charlotte, North Carolina, United States Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

  • About the event

Becoming Her is a confidence and etiquette experience for girls ages 9–17. The goal is to help young girls develop self-respect, communication skills, and confidence so they can carry themselves with poise and purpose in everyday life.

During the experience, girls will learn:

    ✨ Confidence and self-respect

    ✨ Communication and social etiquette

    ✨ Table manners and presentation

✨ Healthy boundaries and respect for themselves and others

It’s also a Dress to Impress event, giving girls the opportunity to practice presenting themselves with confidence.

The program is hosted through my nonprofit, Peaceful Homes, as part of our mission to pour into youth in our community.

    Why should you sponsor?

Sponsors support Becoming Her because it directly invests in the confidence, development, and future of young girls in our community. Many young girls do not always have access to environments where they are taught life skills like respectful communication, self-confidence, social etiquette, and healthy boundaries.

By sponsoring a seat, you are helping provide a safe and empowering experience where a girl can learn skills that will benefit her in school, relationships, and future opportunities.

Your support also helps Peaceful Homes continue its mission of mentoring youth and working toward opening our first transitional home for young adults aging out of foster care.

In short, a sponsorship is not just supporting an event — it’s investing in the growth and future of the next generation.

    Therea Gardner

My name is Therea Gardner, and I am the founder of Peaceful Homes, Inc., a nonprofit based here in Charlotte, North Carolina that I started in 2024. Our mission is to support young people who are aging out of foster care by providing transitional housing, mentorship, and life-skills development. We are currently working toward opening our first transitional home this August for youth ages 18–21.

While working toward that goal, I also believe strongly in preventative mentorship—which is why I created Becoming Her, a confidence and etiquette experience for girls ages 9–17. This program focuses on teaching young girls communication skills, self-respect, social awareness, and the confidence to carry themselves with purpose.

Sponsors can trust that their support is going toward a meaningful cause that directly impacts young people in our community. I am committed to building this organization with integrity, transparency, and a long-term vision of helping youth move from uncertainty to stability.

Supporting this event is not just helping a single workshop—it’s helping build a foundation for mentorship, empowerment, and the future transitional housing program we are working to establish.
