This event will help small black businesses in Detroit get their names out. From boutiques to cleaning companies. We want everyone who has a small business to sign up as a vendor to showcase their business to the world. It is hard as a small black business when it comes to getting support, the reason why is because most people in our city do not know we exist. This event will show the city how many great small businesses are right in the city hat can be supported.
I think a sponsor should support this event because it will give their business more traffic as well. At the same time this last year has been unique in many ways, one specifically being the injustices against African American people. This caused a lot of people to want to support businesses ran by African Americans. However it has been hard for businesses to experience the support because people don't know about their business. Having a sponsor support this event will show others that this event not only supports small businesses but it supports small black businesses. Which will also cause people to want to support and shop with the sponsor.
My name is Janelle, I am 30 years old and the owner of Hey Black Gurl Beauty. I have been figuring out ways to get my business out there as well as help other het their names out. I am a wife and mother of 3. My goal is to make the road to a successful business easier for a person with darker skin. Even though running a business is not easy, I think having this type of event will help in many ways.
