About the event

Mission Statement

To provide an ineffable experience through the love of sports for athletes and communities, equally.

Vision

To bring sporting events in cities throughout the country by having athletes compete at a high level and positively impacting community through support, entertainment, and connection.

Problem

There are two problems. First, players and teams pay a lot of their own money and time to compete in tournaments for below-par incentives. Secondly, spectators who watch the sporting event are passionate about the sport too but have no opportunity to really be involved in it.

Solution

Brackets Tournament will bring these problems into solutions in 3 ways: Compete, Connect, and Community

Compete – We want to attract a high-level of competition for teams to take pride in being the best in the selected city/area. A player or team cannot be considered the best without playing against and beating the best. Brackets Group will recruit teams of high caliber. Also, Brackets Group will provide incentives that are more than just a T-shirt or trophy. We will provide professional sporting event tickets, accessories, and hotel reservations, to name a few. Our goal of this aspect of the tournament is to have the winners take pride in their craft through something tangible.

Connect – Connection is a powerful tool in life. A level of connection already exists through the common passion for the game. Players and fans are not just athletes; they are professionals as well. They range from lawyers, doctors, educators, people in health care, sales, and much more. What Brackets Group aims to do is to expand on that connection by providing various forms of entertainment for fans and teams to network with each other outside of basketball or sports.

Forms of entertainment include raffle drawings with enticing prizes, popular food trucks, delicious desserts, a photobooth, and contests such as a 3-point shootout, dunk contest, and half court shots to name a few.

Community – Community involvement is the key to show that there are people who care and want to do good for people. The power of sports can be used as a unified group for a common purpose. Brackets Group will be used as a platform to address and make change in problems that communities face across the country. The lack of effective resources such as education, healthcare, jobs, affordable housing, mentorship, mental health and sports are some of the areas we want to make a difference in.

With the combination of these 3 concepts, it will grow the viability, sustainability, and profitability of the company.

Why should you sponsor?

Using the power of a group with a common passion has the ability to be a powerful tool for change. Our purpose is to give back to the youth, especially those in underserved communities in Los Angeles, in ways of mentoring and providing resources to pursue their love for basketball and all sports. The game has been good to us in our young adult life. It is our duty, time, and responsibility to give back to the game we love. The values and life lessons we've learned from mentors, coaches, and supporters through basketball has carried on till this day, and forever will. Join us in our pursuit towards our dream and the future of our youth. 

Moses Lim

Basketball has taught me the ability to be a leader, team player, and the importance of work ethic and discipline. As a former high school basketball player and current recreational player, I carry those traits to this day. Both on and off the court, those values still hold true to me. My experiences through basketball are very similar with life. There are trials and tribulations that go with success and accomplishments. However, what you get out of the trials and tribulations is what truly builds character. The combination of growth from basketball and the passion for the game has led me to realize that I am not fulfilling my purpose with life if I don't offer something back to the game. Doing something I am passionate about is my driving force to becoming successful and I will give 1000% into making sure it's accomplished.
