Cambridge Pride 2019,

Jesus Green, England, United Kingdom Jesus Green, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

Cambridge Pride will support the LGBTQ+ community of Cambridgeshire is many ways. The event – and it's support for local charities and services year-round – will help break down barriers, build social inclusion and change perceptions.

This is not the first event of this kind in Cambridge. There have been six large and highly successful events held by Pink Festival since 2003, which attracted crowds of over 10,000 people. The Pink Festival Group, a registered charity, has teamed up with the local LGBT community to hold the first pride event in Cambridge, with ambitions for it to run annually.

    Why should you sponsor?

Supporting the first Cambridge Pride means…

Engage with current and future customers via printed and electronic publicity and social media.

Engage with the media through press releases and coverage to promote your support of this unique event.

Fulfil your Corporate Social Responsibility commitments and show your engagement with the local community.

Increased brand awareness within the LGBTQ+ community and their supporters.

    Internal engagement

Actively show your support for a diverse and inclusive workplace and community.

Unlock new ways of engaging with your employees and showing your support for diversity.

    LGBTQ+ engagement

Your brand can take a vital role in supporting the first Cambridge Pride.

Offers a platform to demonstrate your understanding and desire to embrace the needs of the LGBTQ+ community through your positive ethical messaging.

Our values supporting Diversity and Inclusion

    Affirmation

We aim to affirm the identities and promote the self-esteem of LGBTQ+ people in Cambridge by creating a platform from which to say: we are proud of who we are!

    Community

We hope to build and strengthen the LGBTQ+ community in Cambridge by bringing people together and forging links in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

    Diversity

We aim to proudly proclaim and celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community in Cambridge.

    Inclusion

We aim to be inclusive to all those who wish to attend, whether they identify as LGBTQ+ or wish to show their support as an ally.

    Antidiscrimination

We aim to advance equality and challenge discrimination by increasing the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in Cambridge and promoting conversations with the rest of society.

    Rights

We aim to support work for LGBTQ+ rights in the UK by offering a platform to rights campaigners and by raising awareness of the challenges, both unique and intersectional, that the community faces. We also aim to support the broader campaign for LGBTQ+ rights worldwide—both by providing a voice for campaigners and by being a beacon of visibility and diversity for people in the 72 countries where it is still illegal to be gay.

    Paul Hyde-Clarke

Cambridge Pride offers you a unique opportunity to not only highlight to your workforce or organisation that you support the LGBTQ+ community but it enables you to engage with new stakeholders and existing customers.

It's a completely free, charity-run event, and we're hoping that local businesses and communities can support us to make it as big and successful as possible – this year, and long into the future.

We, in turn, support vital local charities that offer year-round services to the LGBTQ+ community beyond our event.

Following the huge success of six Pink Festival events since 2003, this year will see Cambridge’s first pride event, and we have ambitions for it to run annually as a vital event in the city’s vibrant calendar.
