About the event

Choreographed for a Cause is a donation-based dance performance hosted by Golden Hour Dance, a nonprofit dance company. During this donation-based performance and during our fundraiser happening now through October 6th, 40% of the proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mental health services to LGBTQ youth. Your sponsorship will enable us to rent studio space for the creation of our work, pay dancer stipends, and provide support for costuming and technical production fees.

You should support this event so we can keep concert dance alive in Brooklyn. Golden Hour Dance aims to support freelance artists by providing opportunities to perform and choreograph while also giving back annually through this concert series by supporting other nonprofit organizations.

Allison Armfield

My name is Margaret Allison Armfield, and I am the Artistic Director and President of Golden Hour Dance, based in Brooklyn, New York.

My choreography has been shown throughout Texas and New York City. My work has been presented at Access Theater as part of CBG Dance Fall Festival, Emotions Physical Theatre's "Evening of Contemporary Dance", and at Green Space in Queens as part of their Fertile Ground series.

"of the mind made up", a solo I crafted for dancer Ally Elliott and originally presented at Texas Christian University's capstone concert series Continuum, will be presented once more at American College Dance Association's South-Central Conference in March 2018 as the guest artist work representing TCU's dance department.
