About the event
Once Around The Square is not your typical race. This is NOT a 5k...NOT 10K...or marathon. No training needed. Procrastinators welcome! This is the race for everyone. Join us for a race/stroll/walk/crawl around the Jacksboro Square to raise funds for Wise Hope Shelter & Crisis Center. Fun for the whole family. Food. Live broadcast from 94.7 FM. Why should you sponsor?
Wise Hope Crisis Center Outreach Office of Jack County has had its doors open for a little over a year. We have been able to service several of our residents with on-going client services, have completed two years of Healthy Relationship Classes in our JISD schools, and worked with community leaders to grow awareness of warning signs and intervention strategies for victims of domestic violence. With all that we have accomplished, we know that we have not even scratched the surface! We need your help!
With our upcoming Once Around the Square Race on October 6, 2018, we hope to gain a greater knowledge of our presence in our community and of the many services that we offer. Your sponsorship will allow us to continue to provide the Healthy Relationship Classes in the schools and One-on-One at no cost. We will also be able to add a professional counselor to our services offered in Jack County; currently clients must travel to Decatur. We are also adding a program to work with our coaching staff of JISD called Coaching Boys into Men focused on the prevention of Teen Dating Violence.
With an event of this magnitude, we hope that the community will be able to come and see what Wise Hope is all about, meet with our office staff in a non-threatening way, and, with you sponsorship, support our local businesses. So much of the work that Wise Hope does, requires a TEAM effort! We hope that we can count on your support in this TEAM effort!

Wise Hope provides vital services, support, and public education. Family abuse is not confined to any gender or group of people but crosses all economic, racial, and societal barriers and is supported by societal indifferences. We seek to educate our community on the costly effects of abuse to our society and to our children. We seek to educate children on alternatives to violence by offering education on peaceful conflict resolution, healthy dating relationships and building self-esteem. Wise Hope focuses on making safety of victims the highest priority.
