About the event

Follow These Rivers Festival is a one-day music and art festival dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the ongoing environmental crises that our oceans and waterways face today. The mission of the festival is to educate through art and music that our local actions can "follow the rivers" to contribute to global impacts and initiatives.

The festival will feature both regional and national artists, a Pittsburgh river clean-up and film screenings, we will bring an entire day together to celebrate life, art and our earth. The goal of this is to raise awareness and funds, which we will give back to our partner organizations, both regionally and nationally, that donate their time and efforts to making our planet more sustainable.

Why should you sponsor?

Our Mission: To raise funds for nonprofit organizations battling critical environmental issues, as well as raise awareness to these issues in our community. 

Marketing Strategy: We will focus on online media to advertise the event. We will be making appearances on podcasts, FM radio shows and internet radio shows to promote the festival as well. In addition, each band that is participating (15-18) will be required to promote the show to their fans, friends and family to create a grassroots network. 

Potential Reach: We estimate that our social media reach will extend to around 35,000 people, while our radio appearances will reach approximately 80,000+ people. 

Expected Attendance: Capacity for the venue is around 400. We modestly expect 300 in attendance, with hopes of more, after factoring in crowd rotation.

James Drakes

James Drakes: Founder, Project Manager. Master of Science in Environmental Science from Point Park University. Lead singer of Monallo. Skills: Event organization and management, passion for environment, music and community betterment. Experience: Years of experience as environmental scientist/consultant and as musical artist.

Jonathan Fisher: Co Founder, Marketing Manager. Drummer of Monallo. Skills: Community activist, artist management, event planning. Experience: Former owner of Set Records record label, years of experience as marketing auditor.
