Advocates and educators from across the U.S. will take part in this summit to share experiences and offer insight that will help communities we serve navigate through the many public health, health equity, environmental and social justice issues that continuously affect the well-being of thousands residing in the Gulf Coast Region (FL, AL, MS, LA, TX).
HIGHLIGHT
This year we will highlight “Human Trafficking,” the fastest growing and second largest criminal enterprise in the world, generating over 30 billion dollars in revenue. We know that human trafficking is not an isolated issue. The markets and venues for victimization run the spectrum from familial trafficking to exploitation and criminal enterprises and affect people of all ethnicities, genders, and socioeconomic classes. This summit aims to take a public health approach focused on prevention and protection of the highest-risk populations instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
