About the event

Our event is a 3 day Rock Music Festival Extravaganza featuring the very cream of the crop of Modern New Rock/Metal bands, legendary acts from the 80s and future rock stars! The emphasis is on providing a safe environment for music fans to meet new friends and enjoy a top quality musical programme plus a merch hall and marketplace. Hull has a lot to offer - from the old town to the Fruit Market Area to the BusyCity Centre and many shops, Cafes, bars and restaurants. We aim to engage local fans with acts they may not get to see or know about. Our main supporters flock in abundance because they trust our knowledge and believe in the acts and artists we choose to represent our festival. There really isnt another festival in the UK that delivers a festival that is built by fans for the fans like ours. We listen to what our fans say and we deliver!

Rocket Ride Entertainment is a new vision for Hull and the surrounding local. Every year we bring people from across the world to enjoy 3 days of great music and take in the sights of our fantastic City - Hull (the City of Culture 2017) Hull Metal Heaven is now an established event on the calender of most festies. Aswell as organising festivals we are developing a number of new and exciting shows for the following years that will embrace local cultures whilst showcasing our talents to an eager audience from all over the world.
Any future sponsor can be sure that their branding will form an integral part of what we do and we promise to provide maximum exposure over all our media platforms aswell as media print and TV. Ian Wright

I have been promoting and managing acts for nearly 20 years. As a musician in the 80s I earned my crust playing for pennies and relying on the kindness of others to get me by. I had a dream but I failed the audition it seems.
I started Rocket Ride Ents as a business venture around 2002. Promoting local acts I soon moved onto more established acts. As a lover of 80s rock I found my niche promoting an array of million selling bands who were rediscovering themselves whilst audiences were rediscovering them. It made for an interesting venture. Around this time I was asked to Tour Manage a number of established acts and found myself on the road. It wasnt for me but the experience was invaluable. I also had a period as a Chef, Manager and worked for the NHS as a Senior Technical Officer.
After a period away from music raising a family I decided to start running a small festival called Hair Metal Heaven. This is our 3rd year in business and this year we have an offshoot of this festival occuring around the end of the year called The Very Eavy, Very Metal Xmas Show and we are entering our most important phase as we try to reach to larger audiences and encourage more businesses to believe in what we are trying to do and provide sponsorship. We will be making in roads into other areas of the music business next year as we debut - Guitarmegedon - The Music Expo event which will be a stage for established and new instrument makers/businesses to showcase their wares on a large scale to a captive audience. Its an exciting time to be alive and we are hoping all our hard work and plans will bear fruit over the next few years.
