About the event

Invent’s Summary:

The competition would have four domains namely, Agricultural, Technology, Social and Other Products and Services. Entrepreneurs will register in only one of the following domains, as per their Business/Start-up Idea. Afterwards, initial screening would be carried out, and the shortlisted ventures in each of the aforementioned categories would be invited to IBA Main Campus, Karachi. At IBA, the participants will be trained and mentored, in a series of workshops and training sessions, by a panel of established Entrepreneurs. The panel would have members, belonging from each of four domains, to cater to a highly diverse set of participants. The participants would then compete against each other for prize money, in their respective category. We are targeting around 2000 participants, this year.

Invent’s Structure:

Invent would be divided into four rounds. Round 1 would involve campus drives and registrations, where our team will go to different cities across the county including Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta. In each of the cities, we will be covering different incubation centers and university campuses, informing our target audience about Invent and the competition process.

Round 2 incorporates the screening process. While registering on the website portal, all of the entrepreneurs will be required to post a video of 2 minutes, explaining their Business Idea. A panel of Entrepreneurs, specific to each domain, will then be evaluating and shortlisting applicant teams. The shortlisted teams will then be invited to IBA Main Campus, Karachi.

Round 3 of the process includes training workshops and sessions, whereby entrepreneurs will be mentored and guided upon their Business Development Plan, Executive Summary and Business Elevator Pitch.

Lastly, Round 4 of Invent would include the actual Business/Stat-up Idea Pitch, in front of a panel of established Entrepreneurs. The duration for pitch will be around 12-15 minutes which will then be followed by a Question and Answer session for around 5 minutes. At the end of competition, we will have four winners, one in each domain that will be entitled for the prize money on the matching principle.

I am the Manager of IBA Entrepreneurship Society. Currently, I am in my Junior of study at IBA, pursuing my BBA. I have been actively involved in organizing events at IBA for the past 2 years, hence I have the relevant event experience. As a business student, I understand that businesses need to market themselves and spread their message , hence my aim will be to facilitate them in this regard so that they achieve their desired goals from this sponsorship.
