About the event
The Mountain Attack has been held annually in January since 1999 and is considered one of the toughest ski mountaineering competitions in the world. More than 1000 athletes from over 14 nations are at the start in Saalbach-Hinterglemm every year and face the challenging course with more than 3000 meters of altitude. Thereby 7 summits have to be covered both in the ascent and in the descent. The course record is held by the Austrian Jakob Herrmann in a time of 02:15:10.
