People of Culture is about rewriting the African narrative through fashion, style, music and art. We seek to project a positive message about Africa and hopefully reshape the attitude and bias of how Africa is portrayed.
The event will draw guests and attendees from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Efe IyareMy name is Efe Iyare and I am the founder of the event "People Of Culture." I created this as a platform for cultural expression and to create awareness on the richness and abundance of the African culture.
Africa has not been duly represented by the media. Media content tends to portray Africa in a negative light, with hunger, aids and starvation being the recurring message. The People Of Culture hopes to change such narrative, and focus on the positive image of Africa, showcasing our rich heritage, fashion, food, art and lifestyle.
