  • About the event

Over 80% of disease in the developing world comes from contaminated water. Ride for the Pour focuses on bringing awareness to the fact that over 780 million people do not have access to a clean water source.  It is a 30 mile poker-style ride to raise awareness for Esperança's clean water initiatives. Each stop along the course will highlight a water project Esperança has completed in either Nicaragua, Mozambique, or Peru.

The event is free and open to the public, with raffle prizes available to all participants.

    Why should you sponsor?

Esperança is a Phoenix-based health and human services nonproft that has been serving families in poverty, both locally and globally, for almost 50 years.  The purpose of Ride for the Pour is to raise awareness and educate the Phoenix community on the disparity between people around the world and access to clean water. This is an extremely important message to share, especially here in Phoenix, where, though still in the desert, residents do not have to worry about where they would find drinking water.

Esperança serves the poorest communities both locally and globally, reaching over 100,000 individuals a year with health, hope, and healing. With your sponsorship, we can provide care for even more individuals in need.  Thank you for your consideration.

Esperança's mission is to improve health and provide hope for families in the poorest communities of the world through sustainable disease prevention, education, and treatment.  We are more than doctors, donors, volunteers. We are activists, community members, and global citizens. We are connected to our work because we are there, on the ground, letting the people tell us what they need.  We envision a world where communities across the globe have the tools, training, and support to achieve optimal health through access to clean water, secure housing, nutritious food, and disease prevention and treatment.
