Sister Celebration Brunch,

About the event

The event will celebrate the members of the Sister Circle: Motivating Divas of Character for their accomplishments throughout the year. We will begin the event with a catered brunch for the members and attendees. Next, we will have a panel of women who will share their experiences and encouraging words for the members. Lastly, we will end the event with an award ceremony, where each girl will receive a gift on behalf of the organization and donors. Music will be provided by a live jazz band throughout the event.

Why should you sponsor?

Young ladies apart of the Sister Circle are at-risk youth who haven't had opportunities to really see what they have to offer to the world. They live in an impoverished neighborhood in the heart of Miami, where they don't realize they are 20 minutes west of paradise. As their science teacher, I decided to spend a year molding these young ladies' characters into the beautiful, strong, and bright people they are. We spent a year of wellness workshops consisting of yoga, cooking, botany, self-esteem, relationships, communication, social etiquette and so much more. With the help of sponsors, I can rightfully celebrate their tremendous growth in character and strength. To do so, I will need help funding everything that it takes to have a memorable event such as awards, decorations, food, party favors, music, and venues. 

Nicolette Mathis

I am a middle school science teacher and also the school sponsor of Sister Circle. My passion is in mentoring young girls who are from inner-city schools. As a Teacher for America corps member, I strongly disagree with the inequitable resources that inner-city schools get. That's why I make it my priority to support the kids I teach and shape their character in the classroom. Not only should a teacher be able to teach the mind, but also the heart.
