About the event
I have been chosen out of 11000 applicants to ride against 12 other in the Best Wetsern Hotels & Macmillan Ride Of THeir Lives in June.
As part of my pledge I have to raise a minimum of £3000 but I would like to raise £5000 minimum and help make a difference to a cancer patients life and my local community by giving back.
Why should you sponsor?
This is macmillan's sole largest fundraising event of the year and they do not get any help from the Government.
Cancer statistics are huge and every one in two people are diagnosed with the disease within their lifetime.
This sponsorship opportunity would enable a wide coverage to many people! By showing your support not only does your company get good repertoire from the users but also will get branding to be seen in the local press and social media. The race itself will be viewed by 25000 spectators at least and will be broadcast live to the nation on TV. I will also be publishing all my event in local press which will be visible by at least 50,000.
Bertie HaytonI am Bertie, I am 24 years old and I have been very lucky to have been chosen to take part in the Best Western Ride of Their Life at York Racecourse on Saturday 16th June 2018.
This will be one challenge, as I continue to train my pointer, continue my training in my current job, train hard in the gym, on the equicizer and on the gallops on the flatties! My spare time will be spent dedicated to fundraising for Macmillan as I bid to raise a minimum of £5000. I don't want to raise £5000, I want to try my hardest to raise as much money as I can for Macmillan Cancer and will be holding events over the next 6 months.
I will hope that the money I raise will benefit people in my local community battling against cancer! I will be dedicating my ride to my Grandma who lost the battle to cancer and my other Grandfather who lost his life to pancreatic cancer and hope that you will support me on this journey. 1 in 2 people are diagnosed with cancer throughout their lifetime and affects more people than you realise.
Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.
