About the event

Style.Rivals is a fashion show competition for wardrobe stylists, personal shoppers, style consultants and designers.  This event was inspired by the dire position of stylists in the fashion industry - Fashion stylists are often overlooked as the mainstream tends to target designers. However, the reality is that both play a pivotal role in Chicago’s fashion scene.  Style.Rivals caters to showcasing the talents of Chicago’s premeire Fashion Stylists.  The winning stylist wins helpful prizes to keep their career on track.  Overall, each stylist gets an opportunity to expose the Midwest to their creative abilities!

Earlier this year we had an amazing team of fashion influencers from the Chicago area join the show, such as Chicago Tribune Social Columnist Candace Jordan, and VH1’s reality TV star Dani J, just to name a few.  We’ve been steadily growing in magnitude since 2017 and looking to keep our forward momentum.  

Your support helps provide essential awards, exposure and much needed resources to the Chicagoland stylists, while providing brand exposure to a broad audience of fashion professionals.  These professionals love fashion, shopping, styling and the like which means they also like consuming thoughtful products and services.  Also, personal stylists and personal shoppers tend to work with clients with a big budget, many who have unlimited funds - and the stylists typically have the power to sway people becuase they trust their opinions.  Sponsorship with Style.Rivals gives you the opportunity to reach this audience easily.

I work in luxury retail in Operations.  I started this event because I wanted to be a Stylist some years ago but found there were no resources for me.  I created this event for people like me - who want to be exposed to fashion on a deeper level, who want to get their feet wet or see firsthand what it takes to be successful in the fashion industry - and don't have to spend every dime doing it.  Style.Rivals Fashion Show Competition gives stylists the opportunity to compete in a friendly environment as well as shows them how to put on a fashion show of their very own.  All of the attributes of Style.Rivals were not readily available for me when I considered going into styling.  Because of Style.Rivals, they are now available, this way, someone in my shoes can continue to pursue their dreams.
