About the event

The London Open is in it's 10th year and is UK Backgammon's Flagship event.

It is a 132 man event , that spans over two and a half days - with a similar format to the Monte Carlo World Championships.

The very best players , including 1,2 and 3 in the UK Rankings, will all be present - and the sponsorship will help ensure added prize money to attract the likes of the world no. 1 - Mochi from Japan, as well as advertising and promotion not needed to sell the event ( sold out every year) but to boost the rpofile nationall.

Why should you sponsor?

Backgammon is undergoing a huge rise in popularity , not just in the UK but globally - as is seen by the "world tour" and "UK tour" that are now evident.

Aside from reaching a target audience / membership for this event of over 2000 people , we are keen to use this event to promote the game further in the UK.

Thus the sponsorship will not only provide added cash prize to ensure the highest profile players , and best venue , but also will provide advertising amd promotion.

The latter is not required as to sell the event -as it is sold out every year - however, will be of mutual value to the UBGF and the Advertisers alike.

As a final footnote , the TV production company that promoted BG on TV - "The World Series f Backgammon" - are keen to record the even , and live stream.

If we reach an international audience, yby using some of the sponsorship monies to entice the baset players from USA and Japan this will only increase the market place.

I am the founder of Backgammonlondon and run , on behalf of the UKBGF,, the events in London.

I run the only "high roller" event in the UK - attracting the very best players , while also the largest monthly event in Camden - appealing to beginners through to advanced players.

I am certain with my energy, contacts and promotion, this event can go the final step of ensuring London has it's rightful "world event" -however, for now, Backgammon doesn't attract the same level of moies as say Poker - thus we are happy to remove ourselves from the spotlight / headline of the event and ensure a sponsor has full value for money in helping us.

I am currently myself one of the top ranked players in the UK , London's Player of the Year last year and just been nominated as the "most courteou / sporting" player in the UK.

I promise tp add both energy and integrity to any sponsors that wish to work with us.
