The Lunatic Triathlon,

About the event

One of the most unique triathlons you will find. We hold it under the full moon and switch up the order of events making it a truly Lunatic Triathlon. We offer a Free Kid's Triathlon for children between the ages of 5 and 11 and only charge $40 for our adult triathlons making it cheaper thatn almost every other triathlon around. We also offer an extreme course that swims the participants in a wave pool with the waves on then has them complete an off road and single trck bike course before a grueling off road 5k.

We are a small town event, sponsorship is greatly appreciated and we have a devoted following who keep coming back year after year for our one of a kind race. Event Sponsors will get plenty of exposure in the community.

Scott Merrell

My name is Scott, I first started this event after I had my first child and could no longer afford to participate in high priced triathlons, not to mention there wasnt one in my hometown so travelling to triathlons required travel, food and lodging making them even more expensive.

As a night shift worker I have always been amazed at the beauty of the world around me once everyone else goes to sleep, especially on nights with a full moon, so I wanted to see if I could create a fun and safe race for members of my community. This will be our 10th year in the town of Price and in 2018 we started on in the neighboring town of Helper.

I am humbled by the support the triathlon recieves.
