The University at Albany's African Student Association presents Africa Night,

About the event

Our annual Africa night event is a night dedicated to giving back to our mother continent, Africa. This event sheds light on all of the obstacles that the various nations in Africa face and we the students try our hardest to show our support my celnbrating our culture. On this night we give away scholarships and donate a percentage of our proceeds to charities that help relieve some of the crisis that countries in Africa face.We have various different performances from other orgs on campus but people from cities near and far come for our guest celebrity performer.All in all the nigh is filled with laughs, love, and lots of hope for our rising continent of Africa.

Why should you sponsor?

Our event was made to give back and that's exactly what we have been doing since 1980, when the African Student Association was founded. So for over thirty years the youth have been raising money to host this event. Unfortunately due to budget cuts and the mishandling of our monies, we lost a majority of our funding and are struggling to make the event successful for the upcoming school year. We need to keep our legacy going and desire the finacial support from our sponsors to do so.

Hi, I am the 2018-2019 treasurere for The African Student Association at the Univeristy at Albany. It's my job to ensure that our organizatioin is financially afloat. I monitor all the money that comes in and all the monery that leaves. I am responsible for the org and our 140+ memebers and keeping us going despite what obstacles may come our way!
