About the event

When Loving You Is Hurting Me is a story that speaks to real life situations that many people can relate to but aren’t so quick to discuss openly, says writer Jervis Canty. And although it is not my personal story, there is definitely a character that will speak to the audience member’s personal situations and hopefully offer the warning or encouragement for them to escape their abusive situations.

Why should you sponsor?

This is my very first self written and produced stageplay and would really love the sponsorship to help fund the project. I am a independent newly formed company (Established 2018) On October 19, 2019, we are committing to produce our very first full length stage production. This event will be presented at scheduled to perform at Marygrove College Theater, Saturday, October 19, 2019 with two shows set for 3:00pm (Afternoon Matinee) and 8:00pm (Evening Performance).

Jervis Canty

 

Jervis Canty is the writer and this is his very first stage production. Jervis started as an actor in 2017 working with such notable playwright’s as Vanessa Lynn, Angela Dunlap, Prestina Glover, and Calvin Ray, just to name a few. In 2018, he started Jervis Canty Entertainment LLC as a way to manage his own acting career and eventually branched out to try his hand in many different facets of entertainment. Jervis is also the host of the "Entrepreneurs of Detroit w/Jervis Canty", a live radio show aired weekly on WGOD Radio based in Southfield, MI.
