2023 Pontotoc Food Fight,

Pontotoc, Mississippi, United States Pontotoc, Mississippi, United States

  • About the event

B.O.N.D. Small Business Group announced the official date and details of their annual Pontotoc Food Fight event. This will be the group’s fifth year hosting the event. They also announced that they will have additional events to celebrate the milestone starting in August.

“The Pontotoc Food Fight is an annual event that celebrates bakers from all backgrounds and skill levels,” said B.O.N.D. CEO Jessica Starks. “The main purpose behind this event is to help these bakers reach new audiences, network with other professionals in their industry, and challenge themselves and develop new skills through our themes.”

B.O.N.D. Small Business Group will be hosting the following events to celebrate five years of the Pontotoc Food Fight:

August 5th – Scone-Making class hosted by Brianna Parmer of Joy’s Symphony of Sweets

August 19th – Cupcake Decorating Class hosted by Tarlita Brown-Roberson of Above & Beyond Sweets

September 2nd – BOND Awards Ceremony and reception featuring a tasting with Gabrielle Starks of Dabby’s Kitchen and Keshia Stribling of SugarFoot.

October 14th – 5th Annual Pontotoc Food Fight

Bakers have the chance to win in three categories: Fan Favorite, Best Dressed Cake, and 1st Place Overall. However, Jessica mentioned that this year a new award will be introduced at the event. Attendees will choose the winners of the Fan Favorite awards; however, Best Dressed Cake and 1st Place Overall will be selected by three judges – local food blogger Jeff Jones of “Eating Out with Jeff Jones” and food critic duo Tae Buchanan and Jerwarski Marshall, better known as ItsJawz&Tae. There will also be a fourth mystery judge whose identity won’t be revealed until the day of the event.

The bakers will be one of many winners during the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste every participants’ cake, vote on their favorite, and participate in a cake walk to take home a free cake.

    Why should you sponsor?

B.O.N.D. Small Business Group aims to support local businesses, elevate new talent on the culinary industry, and provide family-friendly activities for those in Northeast Mississippi. Sponsorship will help us to reach those goals and continue to make a positive impact in the community.

    Jessica Starks

My name is Jessica Starks and I am the leader of B.O.N.D. Small Business Group. Not having the resources or support I needed when I first started my marketing company, J.D. Scribes, was the reason I created the group - I wanted to give others something that I would have needed as a new entrepreneur. I use my marketing background to find new ways to give these businesses shine. I also am passionate about investing back into the community, so I enjoy being able to combine both worlds through my work.
