A Cangaral é uma das produtoras mais assistidas do cenário teatral mineiro e nacional e ao longo dos anos vem desenvolvendo um teatro que alia rigor e popularidade.
Os atores Ilvio Amaral e Maurício Canguçu em 24 anos de parceria, trabalharam com diferentes atores e diretores convidados como Cininha de Paula, Ary Coslov, Marília Pêra, Guilherme Leme, Kalluh Araújo e Miguel Magno.
Sempre atentos aos novos dramaturgos e atores, encenaram textos de Raffy Shart, Samuel Benchetrit, Aristides Vargas, Daniel Botti, Ronaldo Ciambroni, Heloísa Perissé, Miguel Falabela e tantos outros. As diversas parcerias artísticas propiciaram a criação de espetáculos que dialogam com o popular e com o contemporâneo. A identidade visual composta pela iluminação, figurino, visagismo e auxiliada pela trilha sonora ocupa lugar importante no trabalho da Cangaral.
Assistidos por mais de três milhões de espectadores mais de 20 espetáculos produzidos, Ilvio e Maurício estiveram presentes em festivais nacionais, recebendo mais de 70 prêmios em diversas categorias.
Atualmente a Cangaral conta com cinco espetáculos em repertório:” Minha Mulher se Chama Maurício”,”Por Pouco”, “A Idade da Ameixa”, “Os Sem Vergonhas”,”Acredite, Um Espírito Baixou Em Mim” e “Confissões das Mulheres de Quarenta”. Estes espetáculos permitem encenações tanto em palcos italianos quanto em palcos adaptados.
Têm viajado por várias capitais brasileiras e principalmente pelas cidades do interior de Minas Gerais.
As ações no interior ganharam reconhecimento de público, garantindo a expansão das ações e parcerias, proporcionando frutos como o projeto “Cangaral Troca a Cena” onde os atores dirigiram um novo espetáculo encenado por grupos teatrais da cidade de Araxá.
