About the event
In addition to being the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club, the Big Buffalo 50 is the ONLY ultra marathon in the area and has become known as "the most fun race in town". Now in it's 4th year, the Big Buffalo 50 had over 800 runners sign up last year and will once again offer a 50k, 50k relay, and 50 mile race.
At what feels like one big tailgate at the beautiful Shelby Farms Park, the Big Buffalo 50 features an incredible food truck lineup, including 901ironpies, El Mero Taco, Grisanti’s 9Dough1, Central BBQ, and Jojo’s Espresso, as well as cold beer from Memphis Bar Ties. All runners receive tokens for free food and beverages as well as a Big Buffalo 50 2021 sweatshirt and trucker hat in an all-new color scheme.
Founded in 2016, the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club is committed to providing comfort, community, and connections to children around the world who are battling cancer. To date, the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club has served over 1,400 deserving "teammates", also providing helpful resources and a network for their families so they know that we are all in this together.
Why should you sponsor?
If you are you looking for a way for your business to make a difference while increasing your brand exposure, you can help us kick cancer to the curb by becoming a business sponsor for the Big Buffalo 50 Ultra Marathon, the largest annual fundraiser for the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club.
While we weren't able to have it last year due to Covid, our 2019 event had over 800 runners sign up and earned the reputation of "the most fun race in town". This year's event is expected to be another great one with food and beverage trucks, lots of tailgating, and all for a great cause. The Big Buffalo 50 is the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club and we are looking for businesses to partner with us. Please consider helping us kick cancer to the curb by selecting one of the available sponsorship levels for the 2021 Big Buffalo 50 Ultra Marathon.
As the Director of Development for the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club, I focus on raising money as well as creating community awareness. I have worked at several nonprofits during my career, with jobs ranging from grantmaking to grant writing to event planning and fundraising. Never before have I ever been so moved by an organization's efforts to change lives and I'm proud to serve them in this capacity.
