About the event
The 1V1 Carolina Championship is a new competitive gaming event built around traditional card games redesigned for head-to-head competition.
Created by 1V1 Spades LLC, the platform currently supports Spades 1V1, Euchre 1V1, Gin Rummy 1V1 and Cribbage 1V1, along with tournament infrastructure designed for both live venues and online competition.
Our tournament technology has successfully completed a 1,024-player automated tournament simulation, demonstrating the infrastructure at large bracket scale. We are now taking the next step: turning that technical capacity into a major live competitive event.
The championship will use a registration-driven format targeting 128–512 competitors, allowing the event to scale based on player demand and sponsor support.
The initial event is planned as a free-entry competition with predetermined sponsor-funded prizes, creating an accessible event for players while giving sponsors a new way to reach competitive gaming and traditional card-game communities.

Why should you sponsor?
1V1 is building a new competitive category at the intersection of traditional card games, esports-style competition and live entertainment.
Sponsors have the opportunity to become founding partners while the platform is still early in its national expansion.
Sponsorship can include prominent event and digital branding, tournament-screen exposure, social-media promotion, branded player experiences, on-site activations, finals and winner-content integration, product demonstrations or sampling where appropriate, and inclusion in post-event performance reporting.
Sponsor funding will help drive player acquisition, venue costs, event production, marketing and predetermined prizes, allowing the championship to remain accessible to competitors while building a larger audience.
Unlike a concept-stage tournament project, 1V1 already has working tournament technology that has completed a 1,024-player automated simulation. The next challenge is building the live audience to match that infrastructure.
We are seeking partners that want to help build that audience with us—from the first major Carolina championship toward future 512- and eventually 1,024-person live events.

Mehdi ZerradMy name is Mehdi Zerrad, founder and owner of 1V1 Spades LLC.
I founded 1V1 around a simple competitive idea: traditional card games become fundamentally different when players compete head-to-head—no partner, no excuses.
What began with Spades 1V1 has grown into a competitive gaming platform supporting Spades, Euchre, Gin Rummy and Cribbage, along with tournament technology for live venues and online competition.
I have been directly involved in the product development, tournament testing, venue relationships and growth of the platform. Our tournament infrastructure recently completed a 1,024-player automated tournament simulation, and we are currently hardening the system based on what we learned from that large-scale run.
At the same time, I am building the live side of the business through venue events, pilots and partnerships, with the goal of establishing recurring 1V1 competitions and eventually major regional and national championships.
Sponsors are not being asked to fund an idea that exists only on paper. The games and tournament platform exist today, the technology is actively being tested at scale, and live venue relationships are already being developed.
I am now looking for founding partners who want to help turn that technology into a recognizable competitive gaming property.
