I'm reaching out to invite to partner with Champions Premier League (CPL) Season 7, a professionally organized cricket tournament in Pune.
CPL is held three times a year and continues to grow, with player participation increasing from 36 (Season 5) to 40 (Season 6), and now 48 players across 6 teams in Season 7.
Our players are working professionals from IT, corporate, retail, and various business sectors across Pune, making CPL a great platform for local brand visibility.
We're currently looking for a Jersey Sponsor. Your brand logo will be featured on all team jerseys, giving your business visibility throughout the tournament and across our social media coverage.
I've attached our sponsorship proposal with more details. I'd be happy to discuss the opportunity over a quick call or meeting at your convenience.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
1. Recurring, not one-off exposure You run 3 seasons a year — that's repeated brand visibility every few months, not a single-day stall at a random event. Sponsors pay for consistency; a one-time banner gets forgotten, a T-shirt logo worn across an entire season (and re-worn in practice/casual games after) doesn't.
2. High-value, non-random audience 48 players who are working professionals in corporate and business roles — this is a huge differentiator from a "random neighborhood tournament." Sponsors don't just want eyeballs, they want eyeballs with spending power. A corporate crowd is exactly who most local brands (NBFCs, real estate, D2C, electronics) are trying to reach.
3. Built-in word-of-mouth and social reach Every player has friends, family, and colleagues who'll see the tournament on WhatsApp/Instagram — 48 players means 48 personal networks amplifying the brand, essentially free influencer-style reach with zero ad spend on the sponsor's part.
4. Direct, physical brand placement The logo isn't buried in a digital ad someone scrolls past — it's on a T-shirt worn for hours, photographed, shared, and seen live at the venue. Physical branding has a longer "dwell time" than a banner ad.
5. Low cost for the exposure Compared to what these same brands spend on formal ad campaigns, sponsoring a local tournament's T-shirts is cheap — a few thousand rupees for genuine local goodwill and visibility, which is a much easier "yes" than a corporate ad budget approval.
6. Community goodwill / local presence For brands with a nearby office, store, or project (real estate, gyms, NBFC branches) — sponsoring a hyperlocal event signals "we're part of this neighborhood," which builds trust faster than any hoarding or flyer.
One thing to be upfront about, honestly: don't oversell reach numbers you can't back — 48 players is a real but modest audience. The pitch works best framed as "targeted, high-quality local visibility" rather than "mass reach," since that's actually the truth and it's still a genuinely good deal for the right kind of local sponsor.
Want me to fold these points into the email as a proper "why sponsor us" section, or turn it into a quick one-page sponsorship deck instead?
Champions Premier League is a Pune-based cricket tournament that I organize and run 3 seasons every year. What started as a passion project among friends and colleagues has grown into a structured, professionally run league — complete with formal match regulations, Power Play rules, Super Over formats, and strict discipline guidelines to keep every season competitive and well-organized.
Season 7 features 48 players, most of whom are working professionals from corporate and business backgrounds across Pune — bringing a level of seriousness and community engagement that goes beyond a casual weekend match.
I personally handle the planning, team coordination, and sponsor relationships for CPL, alongside my full-time role as Assistant Category Manager at Vijay Sales, where I manage the Laptops category across the Pune region. My background in business, category management, and vendor relationships is part of why CPL is run with the same discipline and structure you'd expect from a professional setup — not an ad-hoc local match.
