About the event

ROBOVISIONÄR '26 is a two-day national robotics and drone engineering championship hosted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, on 24 and 25 September 2026.

Five competitions run across the two days, with a total prize pool of ₹2,00,000:

Drone Race Circuit (FPV) - ₹60,000
Robo Soccer 1v1 - ₹50,000
Obstacle Robo Race - ₹40,000
Fastest LFR (Line Follower) - ₹30,000
Bot Sumo 5KG - ₹20,000

Every machine entered is designed, built, wired and debugged by a student team, then judged on the floor in front of a live audience. No simulations and no second attempts once a run begins.

Teams are already registered from Anna University CEG, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Easwari Engineering College, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vel Tech, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, Sathyabama Institute, and multiple school teams building at senior secondary level.

WHO IS IN THE ROOM
Engineering students from across India and beyond, competing in robotics and drone disciplines. These are the students who already buy motors, ESCs, LiPo batteries, FPV gear, microcontrollers, 3D printing filament and hand tools, and who influence what their juniors buy for the next three years. Around 90 team slots across five arenas, with an expected 300 plus participants and additional spectator footfall over the two days.

WHY IT CONVERTS
This is a build-first audience. A recruiter is watching candidates debug under time pressure, which no interview replicates. A drone brand is standing next to an FPV circuit where every pilot in the room already owns your category of product.

FIRST EDITION, REAL TRACTION
We are the first edition, and we are transparent about that. What we can show is that 20 teams registered and paid before we ran any paid marketing at all, purely through community channels and word of mouth. Early sponsors get category exclusivity that will not be available once this is established.

SATECBOTS SIST

ROBOVISIONÄR '26 is organised by SATECBOTS, the robotics team of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.

The championship is run by a student committee of over 25 members working under eight faculty organisers from the department. It is an official departmental event of the institute, not an independent student activity. Each of the five competitions has its own named student host and faculty coordinator, listed publicly by event.

Everything supporting the event is built and operated in-house by the team. The registration platform at robovisionar.com was built by our web team and handles slot capacity, waitlisting, payment verification and participant records for the entire championship. Every figure a sponsor sees on that site is live data, not a projection.
