“Same Time, Same Place” brings together the work of eleven recent graduates from the Bachelor of Craft & Design (Furniture) program at Sheridan College. The exhibition showcases a wide range of approaches to furniture design, from traditional woodworking and contemporary furniture to works beyond conventional materials, processes, and typologies. Developed through months of research, experimentation, and dedication, each piece reflects an individual practice shaped within a collective environment. This show captures the moment where eleven distinct voices meet in the same time, and same place.
Sponsors will receive exposure to audiences that are enthusiasts or professionals of craft, design, furniture, or art.
For over 20 years, Gallery 1313 has been promoting creativity, learning and growth in the careers of artists, and inspiring passion and appreciation for arts and culture in the heart of Toronto's Parkdale Village.
My name is Galen Lau. I am a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Craft & Design (Furniture) program at Sheridan College. I make simple, functional, quiet furniture and other everyday objects for residential and commercial spaces, prioritizing craftsmanship and sustainability. My work tends to be minimalist and geometric because I like how it contrasts against the organic forms of nature. I enjoy challenging himself to make things by hand, and find it satisfying to see hand-made parts come together with precision. I strive to use sustainably-sourced and renewable materials. I have won several awards during my 4 years as a student, and earned a 3.85 GPA.

In return, we would put a sponsor's logo on promotional materials and event poster. We would also show our appreciation by acknowledging our sponsors throughout the event and on social media.
