A 40+ Year Tradition, Built in Broome County

Spiedie Fest began in 1983 as a small, community celebration centered around the Southern Tier’s signature food—the spiedie. Rooted in the traditions of local Italian families, the event quickly grew beyond a simple cookout into something much bigger.

With the addition of hot air balloons, Spiedie Fest became a true spectacle—blending food, culture, and sky-high visuals into a one-of-a-kind summer experience.
