About the event

The Hearts in Harmony: A Valentine’s Charity Gala, is a vibrant event designed for college students to dress up, socialize, dance, and enjoy great food—all while supporting a meaningful cause. This evening will bring together 150-200 college students from Rutgers University, offering a unique opportunity for connection and fun while making a tangible difference. All ticket proceeds will go directly towards Hope4spandana, with sponsorships partially covering event costs to maximize the donation impact.

This year, the event will support Hrudayalayam, a school dedicated to providing care for 50 underprivileged, intellectually challenged orphan children. For 20 years, Hrudayalayam has served as a sanctuary, offering nutritious meals, physical therapy, and a safe haven to these remarkable children.

Why Support Hrudayalayam?

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted Hrudayalayam's funding, leaving them unable to cover basic expenses like rent and daily operations. Currently, Hope4Spandana’s donations provide food for only 10 days a month and support limited physical therapy. Without additional funding, the school’s future is uncertain.

Inspired by past successful initiatives at Matrudevobhava and Ashraya orphanage centers, where permanent shelters were built, we are committed to replicating this impact for Hrudayalayam. Our goal is to construct a permanent facility featuring a common hall, kitchen, and bathrooms. This essential project requires an estimated $35,000. The intention of our Gala is to help the national organization and raise a significant portion of this amount around $5-6k as a goal. 

The Valentines Charity Gala allows students to make a real difference while enjoying a lively evening of dancing, dining, and socializing. All proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit the construction of this shelter, ensuring Hrudayalayam can continue its vital mission for years to come.
