About the event

The West Brom Open has been running for 47 years so far – 2026 being our 48^th year – making this a very well-loved competition amongst fellow bowlers across the country. It is an open competition of 256 entries for Men, Women and Juniors.

Each year our finals day is packed with visitors travelling from all over the Uk to watch top bowlers compete for the title of Winner.

In 2026 we are proud to announce that our competition has been chosen once again as a qualifier for the Champion of Champions – which Is the most prestigious finals day amongst the crown green bowling community.

We as a club pride ourselves on being a home to a sport that Is open to all ages. Whether you are 10 years old or 70 years old, bowls is a sport that anyone can partake in - Opening multiple opportunities to be part of a team, learn new skills and most importantly It gives people a hobby they can enjoy!

We have numerous brilliant bowlers under the age of 18 that are competing in national competitions as well as our local leagues. This encouragement has given them alternate options to playing sports and building new friendships as well as enabling some of them to develop leadership skills as they captain their own teams. This is fantastic for us as a club because the young players are the future of our sport!

With your sponsorship we can use these funds to not only improve our competition with our faciclities and the condition of the green - but it also allows us to stay as part of the comunity and provide an area where everyone can enjoy playing a sport that allows them to develop all skills of life.

Hi there! 

My name is Jess and i have been a member of the bowling community all my life, I am now 23 and this sport has really allowed me to develop in so many ways. I first took interest in playing the sport arounf 8 years ago, pretty much all of my family are involved in one way or another so i thought why not give it a try.

Since starting, i am now captaining 2 teams, i have won competitons and travelled across the country to compete. i have developed leadership skills and grown myself as a person going from a teen to an adult. But most importantly i have made so many friends along the way, i have been given so much support through all the learning curves and frustration.

We as a club provide a space for everyone that wants to try something new and allows them to learn a new talent along the way. it provides them with a social atmosphere all year long.
