The Women’s LeadHERship Symposium is an annual event, currently in its twelfth iteration, hosted by the Division of Athletics at the United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA). USCGA is one of five federal service academies, graduating 'leaders of character' with both a degree and a commission to serve as an officer in the U.S.Coast Guard.
Women's LeadHERship Symposium provides an opportunity for professional development through discussions and workshops led by prominent women in the athletics arena, while being given the opportunity to network with other individuals in this career field.
We draw approximately 120 coaches and administrators from multiple colleges located throughout New England and spanning different conferences and NCAA divisions, to this event annually. Each year's event features a prominent keynote speaker, which have included industry greats such as Dr. Jen Fry, Jen Baker, Val Ackerman, Patti Phillips, and Sandy Barbour. This year's keynote will be Communications Specialist, Betsy Butterick.
The WLS Symposium Agenda includes: A continental breakfast followed by the morning workshop and keynote address, then lunch, followed by the afternoon address, and concludes with two, small group discussion sessions and a networking cocktail hour.
USCGA's Women's LeadHERship Symposium provides sponsors with the abiltiy to connect on a personal level and for a prolonged span of time with women in collegiate athletics from throughout New England.
