About the event
Curtain Call for Hope is a benefit concert presented by Cues For Cancer, a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to arts-based healing. Through the power of live performance, this evening brings our community together to inspire hope — both on stage and off — for individuals and families affected by cancer and other health challenges.
Every ticket sold and every sponsorship raised directly supports Cues For Cancer’s mission: creating transformative arts experiences that remind our community no one faces this journey alone. When the lights go up, something shifts — for one night, the weight of a diagnosis becomes shared, and that changes everything.

Darrell WoodI’m Darrell Wood, founder and Executive Director of Cues For Cancer, a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to arts-based healing. I started Cues For Cancer out of a simple belief: that art has the power to heal, and that no one should face a cancer journey alone. Through performances, events, and programs like Curtain Call for Hope, we bring hope, connection, and community to individuals and families navigating cancer and other health challenges — inspiring hope both on stage and off.
Outside of Cues For Cancer, I bring a multidisciplinary background spanning nonprofit leadership, federal contracting communications, design, and artificial intelligence — including an MS in Artificial Intelligence and ongoing doctoral research focused on how mission-driven organizations can responsibly adopt emerging technology. But at the heart of everything I do is a commitment to using
creativity as a force for good. When I’m producing an event like this one, my goal is always the same: to create a moment where our community can gather, feel, and heal together
