This March, Cherubs Productions and 35k Productions will present a revival of Dry Land by Ruby Rae Spiegel, directed by Makaio Toft, beginning performances March 13 at University Settlement. The production stars Nuha Jes Izman (Yellowjackets) as Ester and is a benefit run, with all net proceeds supporting the New York Abortion Access Fund, which provides critical financial and logistical support to people seeking abortion care in New York State.
Set in a Florida high school locker room, Dry Land follows the private struggles and unexpected bond between two teenage girls as they navigate friendship, bodily autonomy, and the pressures of growing up. Blending dark comedy with unflinching drama, the play uses intimate storytelling to spark conversation around reproductive autonomy and access to care, making theater a space for empathy, dialogue, and community engagement.
Supporting Dry Land offers sponsors meaningful visibility while aligning their brand with a timely, values-driven cultural event. The production runs for six performances in an intimate 60-seat venue, reaching up to 360 audience members, and includes an opening night after-party attended by artists, press, and invited guests. Sponsors receive repeated brand exposure through printed programs, flyers, and digital marketing materials throughout the run.
Beyond visibility, this production supports a powerful mission. Dry Land centers on themes of bodily autonomy and reproductive justice, and all net proceeds from the run benefit the New York Abortion Access Fund, which provides critical support to people accessing abortion care in New York State. Sponsoring the event allows brands to be associated with socially engaged theater that fosters conversation, empathy, and community impact.
Cherubs Productions is a New York–based theater production company focused on creating socially engaged work that brings people together through intimate, conversation-driven storytelling. This benefit production of Dry Land, presented in partnership with 35k Productions, aligns with Cherubs Productions’ mission to support reproductive justice and create meaningful cultural experiences, with proceeds benefiting the New York Abortion Access Fund.
