Suicide Awareness & Prevention Symposium,

American Legion Riverside Post 79, Riverside, California, United States American Legion Riverside Post 79, Riverside, California, United States

  • About the event

Founded in 2017, Helping Heroes USA (HHUSA) has developed impactful programs to raise awareness about one of the leading causes of death in the U.S.—suicide.

HHUSA programs are designed to draw individuals from isolation and help create and educate support networks.

HHUSA has participated in various events, including cycling, golf clinics, golf tournaments, concerts, workshops, and symposiums.

In 2023, HHUSA developed a Symposium that empowers the community to:

    • Recognize signs of trauma, PTSD, and suicidal ideation
    • Start courageous conversations
    • Create safety plans and connect to critical resources
    • Promote and use the suicide “Hot Lines”
    • Attendance at these workshops is complimentary and supported by HHUSA and its partners.

HHUSA is launching several events in 2025 that focus on empowering and educating communities comprised of veterans, first responders, their families, and the public.

Impact of Your Support: Every suicide leaves behind a ripple effect, impacting over 135 people: family, friends, coworkers, first responders, and entire communities.

Suicide was responsible for 49,316 deaths in 2023, which is about one death every 11 minutes.

We are actively seeking partners to join our movement to help mitigate the number of suicides in the US.

    Why should you sponsor?

The Symposium Series is designed to serve its partners best.

It positions your company as a leader in “cause marketing”.

There are many avenues we use to market the Symposium Series:

PR, social media, podcasts, and networking with many veterans and first responder organizations.

Cross-brand marketing. As other partners market the Symposium Series, your company enjoys exposure in their networks.

Your company's exposure is continuous, as it involves numerous follow-up mailings, newsletters, and small group meetings.

Event opportunities: Partners have the opportunity to set up a booth at the event and interact with participants, who are expected to number 250 per event.

Audience is: Veterans, Active Military, First Responders, and the support community
