  • About the event

Educators, policy makers, politicians, and businesses are all waking up to the importance of  STEM education and workforce development. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics workers play a key role in the sustained growth and stability of the U.S. economy, and are a critical component to helping the U.S. win the future. STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators.

The purpose of our Beyond the Microscope event series discussion is to spark conversation between a group of experts or industry and thought leaders and greater community so that we can all learn from each other. From February through May 2021, we’ll host four different webinars, each on one topic, to highlight important issues and feature special guest experts. The topics are the role of diversity and inclusion in STEAM Education, the role of the arts in STEM, STEM in policy and government, and the Future of Work.

    Olu Ibrahim

    Hello, I am Olu!

I truly thank  my parents  for my  insatiable appetite for learning, and my commitment to empowering others to participate in the innovation economy.

For the last decade,  I have played an integral role in supporting local education-related NGOs to design strategies for adapting to the technology revolution.

In 2016, I  founded Kids in Tech to address the specific need of educating young people to become the next generation of tech-savvy leaders. Through Kids in Tech I plan to prioritize the exposure of young people to computer science from the earliest age, excite young learners about technology, and stimulate a culture of curiosity and learning.  In doing so, I  hope to equip young people with the marketable skills to not only staff, but one day lead, the American tech industry.
