  • About the event

I am beginning to present world-class jazz concerts at the Nocturne Theatre in Glendale. Formerly called the Glendale Centre Theatre, the historic venue was founded in 1947 and has entertained 4 generations of patrons with musicals, plays, and concerts.

It is the only venue nearby that's "in the round" where the seats surround the stage in a full 360 degrees. That means that no seat is farther than 9 rows from the action and everyone has a good view for a more intimate experience.

On September 12th, we are hosting the Charlie Porter Quartet featuring Eric Scott Reed. In a brief nutshell, Charlie is a NY trumpet player and attended Juilliard, won a Grammy, has won the National Trumpet Competition, and has been the soloist for orchestras around the world. Eric Scott Reed is one of the world's premier piano players and has played with stars like Wynton Marsalis, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Elvin Jones, and Christian McBride.

    Why should you sponsor?

We are looking for sponsors and hope that the magnitude of our event can help you drive sales, boost awareness, and develop credibility with the backing of some of the world's greatest musicians.

Since this is our first event, we don't have specific demographic information. However, jazz fans are often older, well educated, have sophisticated tastes, and carry purchasing power.

    Eric Ching

My name is Eric Ching and I studied music at NYU. I've played professionally for the past 10 years and I'm now using connections that I've made with the world's finest musicians to produce concerts at the highest level.

    Musician Bio:

Eric Ching is a jazz drummer and composer currently residing in Los Angeles, CA. He plays music with a tremendous amount of purpose and is infinitely creative in the way he manages color and shape.

With his compositions, he aims to explore new territory while channeling the spirits of McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, and Kenny Garrett. His pieces all have a searching quality where he isn't quite sure what he's looking for, but he'll know when he's found it. He yearns for the unexpected and his songs gradually unfold like a Tarantino movie.
