About the event
It's like speed dating for homegirls. HH provides a safe and supportive space for Black women to connect with like-minded friends, and overcome feelings of isolation.
HOW IT WORKS: Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow like-minded Black women every 10 minutes, through a series of fun and interactive activities. At the end, homegirls who were able to connect will have the chance to exchange information for their next hookup.
If an attendee was not able to connect with a homegirl, they'll receive a personal invite to join our free group chat where we share tips & resources on how they can make friends in their city.
Why should you sponsor?
It's hard to make friends as an adult, especially as a Black woman. Whether you've moved to a new city for work, outgrew your childhood friendships, or just struggle with social anxiety - finding new friends can feel overwhelming.
"Black women are more likely to report symptoms of social anxiety disorder than White women, with 30% of Black women reporting these symptoms compared to 24% of White women." (Jones, 2017).
By sponsoring Homegirl Hookup, your brand can demonstrate its commitment to promoting mental health and well-being among Black women. You will also have the opportunity to connect with a highly engaged and diverse audience of Black women from across the country.

Jones, E. O. (2017). Mental health disparities among African American women: Implications for practice. Journal of Black Psychology, 43(4), 330-348.
When I first started Remodel Black in 2013, I had not idea what it could be. I just knew as bold Black Women - I struggled seeing myself in the digital world. It didn't matter if it was fashion e-commerce, or mastermind communities, no one spoke my language; but kept borrowing my culture for their aesthetic pleasure.
10 years later and I still feel the same way.
So instead of asking for seats at everyone's "diversity + inclusion tables", I decided to start laying the foundation for our buildings. The kind of buildings that are made for us, because they were exclusively created by us.
Through the years Remodel Black has created an influencer agency, designed dope merch, been highlighted on Megan Thee Stallion's IG, and now we're gearing up for our first IRL event - Homegirl Hookup.
My mission is to create cultural experiences that help Black women feel seen, heard & valued.
