About the event
This is to create a fundraising page for Arizona Teachers to provide some student loan relief. Without teachers, none of us would have an education. The page will donate evenly to AZ teachers who are currently teaching and are in student loan debt.
Why should you sponsor?
After reading about how there was 2 billion dollars raised for a border wall, I was appalled. Not only because this was something promised to the U.S. but because that money can help so many other things. So I thought, if Arizona Teachers are promised all this money in pay raises and those promises are broken, why not try and raise money just like those did for the promised border wall.
Melissa SmithI have worked for a School District in AZ for the past 13 years. I’ve grown in many positions throughout the district and the departments. I also do speech therapy with a private company as a side job. I see all of the time, effort and emotions that teachers put into their careers. I see how much money goes towards their children and classrooms and how much they get to actually take home for themselves. Teachers are the reason why people are educated and why we are successful and they deserve way more than what they are given. Yes, people say “they take the job knowing the pay” but that doesn’t mean we can fight for what they deserve. After all, they are still teaching at low salaries with or without assistance. It’s all about what they deserve.
